Russian team provided the Glenbard South team
a sound beating on boards 3, 5, 6, 7 & 8.
They split the games on Board 1 & 4 and their
only loss to South was on Board 2.
Board
1 shown top is Bennet Joseph (College of DuPage,
Glenbard alumni) drawing his match with Alexey
Sarelev.
Board 2
is Glenbard South Assistant Coach Jim Egerton beating Alex Kolosov
twice to win the only board for South.
Board 3 is
Michael Wurtz (1st Board Glenbard South) giving Vadim Churaev an
unsuccessful challenge.
Board 7 was
David McWilliams (Glenbard South 5th Board) playing Toofyan Stefanishina.
After the match, the participants enjoyed some team chess (bughouse)
together before the Russian players departed for one of their last
evenings in the U.S.
